General description
The subtype of IgG antibodies are the most abundant serum immunoglobulins of the immune system. It is secreted by B cells and is found in blood and extracellular fluids and provides protection against infections caused by bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Maternal IgG is transferred to the fetus through the placenta, which is vital for the newborn’s immune defense against infection. Bovine IgG is purified from pooled normal bovine serum by fractionation and ion exchange chromatography.
Application
Purified bovine IgG can be used as a reference antigen, standard, blocking agent, or coat protein in a variety of immunoassays including ELISA, immunoblot, Western blot, immunodiffusion, and immuno electrophoresis. Other applications include starting materials for the preparation of solid phase immunogens and immuno adsorbents. Bovine IgG was used as a control in electrophoresis and liquid chromatography.
Packaging
10, 50, 100 mg in polyethylene bottle
